Work Darty Date

The next work party will be held on sunday the 19th of july at 2pm. If all members could come down, we will be removing some more weed from the lake to make fishing a little easier.

After a steady may a few fish have graced the bank last month. Tim Brough had a good session landing 2 fish, a 15lb mirror and to follow a 28lb 8oz mirror known as blind eye, this fish hasnt been on the bank for a couple of seasons so its nice too see it again at a good weight. Anthony managed to get one of the larger commons at 25lb 4oz. Jason Richardson had 2 fish from a 48 hour session an 11lb common and a 23lb 6oz common and lost 1. Andy Gadsby had 2 fish in the same session 12lb 8oz common and a 23lb 8oz mirror and lost a couple too.

Last weekend a few of the lads starded the mammoth task of removing some weed out of the swims. There will be another couple of days to follow, when Mark lets me know the dates i will post them up.

Over the bank holiday weekend a few anglers were on the bank at mesters. Jason Richardson started the session off with a beautiful plated mirror tipping the scales to 21lb 14oz. On the saturday Andy Gadsby had a mirror in the net weighing 15lb and ounces. A couple more fish were lost as well over the weekend.

With the temperatures rising all weekend the fish were heading to the shallows for the inevitable, by monday morning the fish had started to spawn in numbers, so all the anglers vacated the lake and decided to leave them in peace.

New member Tim Brough has been getting into the fish. Over the last coule of weeks he's manged to bag 3 in total, Fist he banked a 19lb 6oz then a 23lb 2oz follwed this week with the biggest at 28lb 4oz, nice work mate. The work party the other week was very productive with some new swim work. The boards swim is now open to carp fishing, likewise the swim opposite (new boards). If a member is fishing either of the swims Then the other swim is threfore closed.

Due to the cancellation of the last work party, it will be now held on saturday the 2nd of May. Could all members come down to help. The first fish of the year came out this weekend, only a 15lb mirror but non the less it looks like the lake has started to wake up. Im sure it wont be long until some of the bigger resident will make an appearance. If any members do get into the fish you can let me know by emailing me at carp@doncaster.co.uk or passing the information on to Anthony or Alan the baliffs.
