Mesters Syndicate Rules
General Rules
- The lake will remain open all year round though the committee reserve the right to close it without warning as they see fit.
- All members must be in possession of current rod licences and Mesters ID card at all times. Members must show them on demand to other members or agents acting on behalf of the Environment Agency.
- Take all litter, including cigarette ends home, no fires under any circumstances.
- Respect the venue, its inhabitants, wildlife and plant life.
- No trees/bushes or bank side foliage to be cut without prior permission from the committee/bailiffs.
- No guns.
- No non-members to be invited to visit the lake at any time without prior permission from the committee/bailiffs.
- All strangers to be challenged and ordered to leave the site if proof of permission to be there cannot be established.
- A three rod limit applies at all times - all rods to be fished from the same swim.
- No boats
- No peanuts, all other particles to be prepared thoroughly.
- No fish to be removed, introduced or moved from lake to lake.
- Fish in a gentlemanly manner and do not encroach on areas of water that should rightly be fished from another swim. You have no rights beyond half way out where the opposite swim is occupied.
- Sessions are to last no longer than 72hrs and then you must not return to fish the water for at least 24hrs. Anglers fishing overnighters must remove their tackle from the swim each morning. Anglers wishing to use the shops, go home for a shower or bait may leave their tackle in the swim for short periods of time only.
- Unhooking mats are compulsory. Carp sacks will be tolerated when absolutely necessary provided the water is deep enough to safely sack a fish in.
- Members may apply for guest tickets for friends and relatives at a cost of £10 per 24hrs upto a maximum of 72hrs. Tickets to be arranged by contacting Anthony Roberts prior to the planned session on 07894966479. Only one guest per angler and only one guest on the water at a time. No guests between noon on Friday and noon on Monday. You are responsible for your guest at all times, if they abuse the rules - you both go!
- Members may publicise their captures but not the location of the lake. Refer to it as "Mesters" or "a North Lincs syndicate water" only.
- Members must cooperate with members of the South Yorkshire Police Shooting Club enagaged in shoots at the water, you are asked to make your presence known to those involved.
Rig Rules
- The committee and bailiffs reserve the right to check rigs in use at any time and anglers must reel in immediately if asked to take part in a rig check.
- Line with a minimum breaking strain of 15lb to be used at all times, including floater fishing. Braided reel line can be used but only in conjunction with rigs where the last 2ft is protected by tubing or an approved leader.
- Lead core and specialist leaders (i.e Fathoms) will be tolerated provided they are safe. Shock leaders will not be tolerated and are not necessary.
- No 360 rigs, helicopter Rigs, fixed lead rigs. No rigs involving knots up the line e.g beachcaster rigs. Distance markers using pole elastic will be tolerated. Only rigs with running leads or semi fixed leads utilising a bolt safety clip whereby the swivel can be locked in place will be tolerated. The Armaled Lockjaw is a good example of an acceptable bolt safety clip.
Pike Rules
- No Pike fishing prior to October 1st (including lure fishing)
- Livebaits are not to be brought on site, only freshwater baits caught on site or sea deadbaits to be used.
- All Pike to be returned alive.
- Pike fishing using orthodox Pike tactics only.
- All rigs to incorporate a wire trace.
Membership is by invitation and the committee reserves the right to refuse membership applications and renewals without the right of appeal. The committee reserves the right to alter the rules and judge any breaches as they see fit. The committee's decision is final.
